You can be in the middle of downtown, and less than an hour later, you’re surrounded by rainforest. Gamboa is usually where people really notice that shift. It’s quieter, greener, and if you look closely, there’s always something moving monkeys, birds, sometimes even sloths if you’re lucky.
If you don’t want to go that far, Metropolitan Natural Park is the easiest option. It’s quick, accessible, and still gives you that feeling of being somewhere completely different.
Even places like the Amador Causeway have their own kind of wildlife iguanas just hanging out near the water, birds flying low over the ocean.
Honestly, half of the experience is just the transition between these places. Watching the city slowly turn into jungle, especially from an open-air ride, is something you don’t really forget.
